Baked Oatmeal

Change up your morning oatmeal routine with this oatmeal bake the whole family will love.

Whether in your stovetop oatmeal or in a quick-oats packet, brown sugar and oatmeal are a natural pair. Brown sugar cuts the bitterness of the fiber in the oats and enhances their natural sweetness. This baked version of oatmeal with brown sugar and cinnamon is a nice change to traditional oatmeal and reheats well all week.

Ingredients

  • 4 1/2 cups whole oats
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted

Directions

  1. Combine dry ingredients. Add in eggs, milk and butter.
  2. Pour mixture into greased 9×13 pan.
  3. Bake at 350°F for 1 hour or until set.
  4. Serve warm with fresh fruit and milk or enjoy without the extras!
